Sounds as though you don't have Internet Access; are you running Kaspersky Internet Security/Anti-Virus 2010?

If you have NextG Wireless Broadband (Telstra, Virgin, Three etc) then you're dialing software may have inadvertently been misplaced in the applications list. Moving the application to 'Trusted' should allow for connection.

If you do not have Wireless, you may have the Conficker virus. The following link will provide removal of the Virus;
http://data2.kaspersky.com:8080/special/KK_v3.4.7.zip

Otherwise, i would contact support biggrin.gif

Thank you for replying. I am trying to run Internet Security 2010. I have broadband internet. I tried to access the link you provided but even that won't connect for me even though my internet seems to be running fine (except for the activation connection). I also included the site as "trusted" in my internet security (hope that's right). I had sent an e-mail to support the same day I posted my query. Sorry, I am such an utter computer dummy!! Appreciate the help though.

That's no problem. If you are infected with something like Conficker, telling you to go to a Kaspersky hosted website was a silly idea on my part. If support have not yet contacted you i will upload the KK utility to the forum as its small enough.

You will find KasperskyANZ doesn't get blocked as its not an understood Kaspersky website to whatever malware you may have; least that's my take on it.

Here you go champ.

Remember, this may not be the solution to your problem, so continue with support; possibly by email correspondents. But if this solves your issue; fantastic biggrin.gif

Another common issue here (probably far more common than the Conficker virus) is having had Norton or AVG 8+ previously installed.
The leftover remnants of these 2 A/V solutions can block Internet access, either partially or completely.
They can also block Kaspersky from Activating and Updating, sometimes with this issue being the only symptom.

Please refer to the appropriate Removal Tools at the following link:-

I have finished the Installation and Activation code process. However Windows Security says 'Malware Protection - Virus Protection - Kaspersky Internet Security reports that it may be out of date. I only bought this yesterday. How do I fix this?

Allow the product to update its databases from the internet.

Ok I have tried everything bit still get the message that I need to unistall AVIRA!!

Trying to install Kaspersky Internet Security 2010. Mys system is Vista.

I have followed the guides on this website, AVIRA's and anything else I could find with any relevance on the web...

-Uninstalled program
-Used the AVIRA Registry Cleaner
-Removed the AntiVir program folders in Program Files ,Program Data
-Downloaded and tried Revo Unistaller
-Downloaded and tried CC Cleaner
-Used Uni nBlue Registry Cleaner

What next so far wasted three hours!! Perhaps AVIRA have me trapped and maybe I will need to take Kaspersky back for full refund..

Please help

Signed

At the end of my patience....

I do enjoy how people get stuck in the holds of a previous Anti-Virus and for some reason the antivirus product your now trying to use, gets the blame.

Perhaps, you should contact AVIRA technical support, since it is their product that wont be removed from your system.

You could also use the guide on the freely available Kaspersky Support website.

You know if you can say something helpful perhaps don't say it at all!! You must have a little too much time on your hands, best leave it to the professionals...

I provided you with a better means to achieve your goal and a way around the entire procedure.

Might i ask what else you had wanted?

Leave it to the professionals? At this point, sounds like the best way to go.

I think you understand that your attitude is not helpful... People come to these forums for assistance, I was not looking to place blame only help. These should be a simple process without the attitude...Please can we just leave it at that (you do not need to respond any further) Thank you for your assistance....

Please try using the trial of JV16 powertools from Macecraft as a registry cleaner for this job - www.macecraft.com
Move the slider up 1 place too for cleaning.
However initially only clean those items that are deemed safe for cleaning.

Also people like me and aKshun are people who are doing this for free on our own time, and are not employees, or at least I am not.
If he suggests talk to the support of Avira, it is because their specific tool is not working, it would better help others for the future if you did use this process so Avira can see where the tool is failing.

Let us know how you get on with above tool.
